Your project boards

Every project can have its own board under Project talk, with sub-boards you open as you need them — and you decide who can see and post in each.

One forum, your boards

The forum is one community for the whole platform. Its platform boards — Lounge, Help & support, Fraud & abuse and the rest — are run by the platform team. Underneath them sits Project talk, where every project can have a board of its own. That project board is yours: you choose which sub-boards exist, who can see them, how posts are moderated and what rules farmers read.

Farmers reach your boards from Project talk and from the project itself. Your team reaches them from Forum → Rules & boards in the console, one project at a time.

Opening sub-boards

A project board is made of sub-boards, each of a type the platform defines: Lounge, Announcements, Help & support, R&D, Farming strategy, Project invites, Influencer corner, Claiming, Boosters, Bonuses, Commissions, Fees and Withdrawals. The platform team can add types and retire old ones, so the list you see is the live one.

Nothing opens on its own. When you launch a project, its board has no sub-boards until you switch them on — pick the ones you have something to say in, and leave the rest closed. A closed sub-board is invisible to farmers.

You can close a sub-board again as long as it has no topics. Once farmers have posted in it, the board stays; hide or delete the topics first if you really need it gone.

Who can see what

Each sub-board has a visibility:

  • Public — anyone signed in to the platform can read it.
  • Members — farmers who have joined this project.
  • Verified — members who have passed the project's verification threshold.

Every type comes with a platform default that you can change, and the change applies straight away. The exceptions are Fees and Withdrawals: they default to Verified and the console keeps them there, because payout details attract impersonators.

Visibility is a read gate. Whoever can read a board can post in it, subject to the platform's posting floor (below). Your own team can always read and post in your gated boards — you run the community, you are not locked out of it.

What "verified" means

A verified member is an active member of the project who has claimed at least a set number of bonus offers on it — repeated, real participation, with no identity check involved. The platform sets the default threshold; you can override it for one project in Edit project (a threshold of zero counts every member as verified).

Moderation mode

Each sub-board is either post-moderated — farmer posts publish immediately and you act afterwards — or pre-moderated — farmer topics and replies wait in your Approvals tab until you publish or reject them. Announcements and R&D default to pre-moderation; the other types default to post. You can switch any of your boards at any time.

Your team's posts publish immediately on every board, whatever its mode.

Description and rules

Each sub-board shows the platform's one-line description and, under it, your description and your rules — one line per rule. Farmers see them on the board as soon as you save. Rules are yours to write; the platform's community guidelines apply everywhere on top of them.

Rules, in three layers

Farmers see the rules for a board in three layers. DappFactory's community rules come first and apply on every board; you can read them but not change them. Your project rules come next and apply on every board of that project. Each sub-board can then add rules of its own.

  • Project rules: Forum config → Rules & boards → Rules. Pick the project, write one rule per line, and save.
  • Sub-board rules: open the sub-board from Your project boards and edit its rules and guide.

Whenever your team hides a post, the farmer is shown the rule it breaks, so write rules you would be happy to quote.

The Collectibles board

Community projects can open a Collectibles sub-board. It is a show-and-tell space: your team opens topics — asking farmers to post their latest durable collectible or keepsake, say — and farmers reply with a picture, the only kind of reply that can carry one. Switch it on or off in Forum config like any optional sub-board. Token launch and Raise projects do not get it.

Starting a topic

New topic opens the topic editor. From All activity you pick a board first; inside a board it is already chosen. Pick a post type:

  • Standard — formatted text.
  • Image and Gallery — one image, or 2 to 10. Still images up to 10 MB and animated ones up to 20 MB, each with alt text; in a gallery the first image is the cover.
  • Poll — a question with 2 to 10 options. Choose whether farmers pick one or several, when it closes (a number of days, the end of the season, or never), when farmers see the results (always, after voting, or on close) and who can vote (anyone, or members).
  • Options — post as your project or as yourself, pin the topic, or lock replies.

Names and avatars in the forum open that person's profile.

The platform's posting floor

Whoever a farmer is, the platform team's forum settings apply before yours: a minimum account age, a daily cap on new topics and posts, a link limit per post, blocked words and domains, and a minimum level to post or reply. A board can tighten these floors, never loosen them. Some platform boards are announce-only — only the platform team can start topics there.

Tags

Farmers label topics on your boards with tags from the platform's shared vocabulary and from the set you author for the project. See Tagging topics.
