Collectibles and keepsakes

Everyone who enters a community season can take something home. Every entrant claims a free keepsake that records their rank; the ranks you put in a collectible band get a durable piece of art, and any entrant can pay for one of their own.

Both are composed when the farmer claims, not minted in advance, so nothing is paid for artwork nobody wanted.

Who gets a durable collectible

Two kinds of durable collectible exist, and an entrant may hold one of each per season.

  • Prize collectible — free. You add a third kind of prize band, collectible, with any rank range you want (21–50, 2–100, 21–200 …). It may overlap the cash and gadget bands. Every rank inside it claims one free durable collectible. Nobody outside it gets one free, above or below.
  • Participation collectible — self-funded. Any entrant, rank 1 to last, band members included, may claim one durable collectible at their own cost.

Limits: at most one prize collectible and at most one participation collectible per entrant per season. A band member may therefore hold both.

Setting it up

Both are declared on the project page in the Collectibles and keepsakes card, or in the Collectibles step when you create the project.

  • Collectible artwork: pick the DappFactory platform template, or one of your own from NFT → Collectible templates. The project page shows the picked template's layers and traits for reference only; to change the artwork, edit the template on its own page. A season keeps the template version it picked, so a later edit never changes a season already funded.
  • Keepsake: pick a DappFactory keepsake template. Keepsakes always carry the DappFactory logo, so there is nothing to upload.
  • The collectible band: the rank range that receives a free durable collectible. It is a prize, so it appears in the official rules, the disclosure and the farmer's prize table.
  • Claiming fee: only when you use your own collectible template. Optional, in SOL, up to the platform's maximum, charged on top of the platform fee, mint and storage — and only on collectibles farmers pay for themselves. The platform keeps a share and you receive the rest, both platform settings. Free to change before the prize is funded; once the season opens you can lower it but never raise it.
  • Royalty on resales: also only with your own template. A percentage of every resale, paid to your project and enforced on-chain, up to the platform's ceiling. It is written into each collectible at mint, so it locks once the season opens. With the platform template, DappFactory takes its own royalty instead. DappFactory also takes a resale fee on every resale, whichever template you use.

What a durable collectible costs

Three lines, quoted separately: the mint (the chain's own charge, priced in SOL), the one-off permanent storage on Arweave, and a flat platform fee. The platform fee applies to every durable collectible — funded or self-funded, platform or own template. Only the mint moves with the SOL price, which is why the lines are never blended into one figure.

You fund the band with the prize: positions × (mint + storage + platform fee), quoted live from the same three lines the project page shows, paid on the same charge rail as your other mint charges — never into the prize vault. The season opens only when the prize vault is funded and the band is paid, and the bands lock once the prize is funded so the total cannot drift.

You never fund the claiming fee. A farmer who pays for their own collectible pays the platform fee + mint + storage, plus your claiming fee when the season uses your own template, in one transaction from their linked wallet; their wallet adds its own network fee. A retry reuses a payment that already landed.

After the season

Entrants inside the band can claim their free collectible for 30 days after the season closes. Whatever is still unclaimed then settles: the unspent part of the band budget returns to your Revenues balance, and the card shows the date it settled and the amount returned. Keepsakes and self-funded collectibles are not on a clock.

Durable collectibles minted from a season appear in the marketplace's Collectibles section, where their holders can list them.

Templates

A template is a layered set with trait spots, each filled with a transparent PNG at one uniform size; the editor shows the shape a template of its kind must have. A published version is fixed — to change the art, publish a new version; retire hides a template from your project pickers without touching the seasons that use it. Only your own projects can use your templates. Every minted collectible records the template and version it was composed from, and carries it in its metadata, so a holder can always see where the art came from.
