Rarity pricing and platform requirements

Price a drop or a template collection by rarity tier, and see what DappFactory requires before farmers can use gated features.

Rarity pricing

Turn on Price by rarity on a collectible drop's publish form, or on a template collection's listing step. The whole supply is generated when you publish: every item is scored by how rare its traits are, ranked, and placed in one of DappFactory's rarity tiers — five by default, from Legendary down to Common, and DappFactory may define more. You set the price of the base tier (Common by default); the rarer tiers multiply it.

That is DappFactory's ladder as it is set today; the editor always shows the tiers, shares and multipliers that apply. A one-of-one trait (one the template marks as unique) rolls into exactly one item, ranked first. When DappFactory's ladder starts with a one-of-one tier, those items form that tier — its count is the template's one-of-ones, not a share — at its own multiplier; otherwise they sit inside the rarest tier.

  • Your own multipliers. You can replace DappFactory's multiplier on any tier above the base, up to the highest multiple DappFactory allows a business. The base tier always stays at 1× (the price you typed) and a rarer tier is never cheaper than the one below it. Reset to the platform ladder puts DappFactory's values back.
  • Base price limits. The price field starts at DappFactory's default base price. Change it if you like; it must sit inside the range DappFactory sets, shown under the field.
  • Demand step. Every tier rises a small percentage each time a set number of items sell. The section shows each tier's price now and after the next step.
  • Locked at publish. Once published, the ladder can't change, and a provenance hash proves no item was reshuffled after the draw. The drop page shows sold, held and available per tier. A scheduled drop may still change its multipliers until it opens.
  • Who can buy. With rarity pricing on, the sale can open to holders of a collectible first, until a date you set, or to holders only — a holder key on the sale itself, picked from your templates or collections or DappFactory's. Fixed once the sale opens. See Holder keys: what holding opens.
  • Blind mint. With rarity pricing off, every item costs the same and buyers get a random item. A blind mint has no tiers and nothing to gate, so Who can buy needs Price by rarity.

How farmers buy

A farmer picks a tier and Shuffle holds a random number of that tier for five minutes at the tier's price now. They can shuffle again, or pay and mint. A tier that sells out offers the next one up. A template collection priced by rarity sells the same way from its own collection page, and each number is minted into the collection when it is bought.

Platform requirements

DappFactory picks one platform collection that unlocks its gated features: the Alpha Vault and polls while DappFactory has switched those gates on, and the Research, Development and Governance boards always. Wherever you set a collectible requirement — a holder key, an Alpha Vault group, a poll — the platform's row is shown locked at the top and always applies first. You can add your own requirement under it, but you can't remove the platform's.

A farmer who doesn't meet it sees what opens the feature: DappFactory's requirement first, then yours, each ticked where they meet it, with a link to get the collectible.

DappFactory gates its own sales the same way you can: a platform collection or drop can open to holders of a DappFactory collectible first, or to holders only, with the same Who can buy setting.
