Using a discount code

A code is entered on the Plans page before checkout. It applies to the plan and billing it was issued for, and the page shows what you will pay before you confirm.

Where to enter a code

Codes are entered on the Plans page in the Creator console. Pick the paid plan you want, Pro or Business, and the billing cadence, monthly or yearly, then type the code into Discount code. The page checks it at once and shows the price you will pay for the first period, or tells you why the code does not apply.

What a code can be

A launch offer, such as the Product Hunt codes: a percentage off, or some months free, on one plan and one cadence, for new subscribers only, until a date.
A referral prize from the founding creators list or Refer & earn: 100% off the plan for a year or for three months. These are single-use, sent by email, and must be redeemed within 90 days of issue. A Refer & earn prize works only on the business that won it.
A code the platform team issued to you for a particular reason.

Checkout

A 100% code needs no card: the subscription starts at once and runs free for the period the code covers. Any other code is applied to the first charge. When the free or discounted period ends, the plan renews at its normal price unless you cancel or switch to Free before then; the Plans page shows the renewal date.

When a code is refused

The page says which of these applies:

Expired, or past its redemption limit.
Wrong plan or cadence: a yearly code on monthly billing, or a Pro code on Business.
New subscribers only, and this business has already held a paid plan, on either cadence, at any time.
Issued to another business: a referral prize belongs to the business that won it.

A code is never applied retroactively to a subscription that is already running; if you hold one, change plan first and enter the code on the new checkout.

Steps

Open Plans in the Creator console.
Pick the paid plan (Pro or Business) and the billing the code is for, monthly or yearly.
Enter the code in Discount code. The page shows the discounted price, or says why the code does not apply.
Continue to checkout. A 100% code needs no card; any other code is applied to the first charge.
