What a collection unlocks: Bacterioverse as the example
A collectible can be more than a picture: holding one can open boards, tasks, seasons, early sales and a points boost. Here is what DappFactory's genesis collection opens, and how you can make any collection or template a key for your own project.
A collectible as a key
Every durable collectible on DappFactory sits in its owner's wallet, and the platform reads who holds what from the chain about every 15 minutes. That makes a collection usable as a key: hold an item from it, and something opens for you. A key can be a whole collection or a collectible template, in which case every item minted from that template counts, including items from versions of the template you have since retired. Free keepsakes never count; only durable items do.
The example: Bacterioverse, DappFactory's genesis collection
Bacterioverse is DappFactory's own collection, unveiled at Launch Day on 3 December 2026. Each item has a rarity tier, from the most common to one-of-ones. From its release, holding one opens, on the platform itself:
- Research and Development: two platform boards only holders can read and post in. Everyone else sees them locked, with what opens them.
- Governance: the board where DappFactory asks holders what it should do. Every vote is advisory, and a ballot is weighted by the tier of the collectible you wear as your NFT avatar on My Profile, so rarer items carry more weight.
- Keys across the platform: once it is released, any business can choose Bacterioverse as a key in its own project, so holders find doors open wherever businesses use it.
What a key can open in your project
Under NFT → Holder keys, pick a project. Each key is a card:
- A holders' board. Set a project board's Who can see it to Holders in Forum config. Only holders read and post there.
- Holder-only tasks. Tick the tasks a key covers; farmers without a key see them locked.
- Season entry. While a season is upcoming or running, only holders can join the project, and members without a key can't earn on its tasks.
- The holder boost. A multiplier on the points for every task on the project, from ×1.05 up to the maximum DappFactory allows. You can pause it yourself.
- First access to a sale. On an NFT collection sold by rarity, or a collectible drop, set Who can buy under Rarity pricing to Holders first until a date you choose, or Holders only.
How to key into Bacterioverse, or your own collection
Pick what opens each key: Bacterioverse, your own collectible templates or collections, or several at once; holding a durable item from any of them opens it. Using Bacterioverse brings its holders to your project with a reason to come back; using your own templates rewards the farmers who already earned or bought your collectibles. Keys work before anything is minted: holders get access from the moment their first item arrives.
Who counts as a holder
DappFactory sets the rule every key follows, shown at the top of the page: any holder, or first owners only, where an item bought second-hand never counts. If a holder sells during a season, the points they already earned stay, but the boost and any holder-only access stop. Each card shows how many people hold an item that opens it.
Steps
- Open NFT → Holder keys in the Creator console and pick your project.
- On a key's card, choose what opens it: DappFactory's collection (Bacterioverse), your own collectible templates or collections, or a mix.
- Tick what the key opens: the holders' board, holder-only tasks, season entry, or the holder boost.
- Press Save keys. Farmers see the change straight away.
- To give holders first access to a sale, open Rarity pricing on the collection's Listing step or on a drop, and set Who can buy to Holders first or Holders only.
